Sudoku, Kenken and Hashi

  • samurai

I've always liked these since they first appeared in the Times a few years ago. These aren't interactive, but they're ideal to print out on a page of A4, so you can pop off to the cafe at lunch time and fill one in there.

The data comes from a MySQL database, and the images are created using a nice little bit of PHP which you can't see here

  • kenken

I like Kenken too - these are generally from The Times (hence the numbering scheme). If you'd like to see them all have a look here

Once again, there's a nice object oriented bit of PHP to do the drawing, and the data is held on a MySQL database.

Incidentally, the "indecypherable" stuff at the bottom of each page is the representation I use for the grids: see if you can figure the representation out …

  • hashi

I won two copies of the same book of Hashi puzzles in separate Times competitions a few years ago and was semi-addicted for a while, but due to the complexity of the "raw data" I haven't transcribed too many of them onto the web.

Note that the html is 4.01 strict.
