In 1998 Laura (of TLILH fame) gave me this card for my big four-oh birthday

Emma (who shares a birthday with me) always received her quirky card from me a few days late.

I decided to re-use the card from Laura

I also decided to cast a small shadow over the card whilst photographing it

Like the poppet she is, Emma returned the card to me a year later, and in 2000 I sent it back to her again!

In 2000 I also attached some blank pages in the middle so that we wouldn't run out of space, which Emma used when she returned the card in 2001, and I used in 2002.

In 2003, some idiot (not me, guv) left the card in her knicker drawer! Neither of us could remember (at the time) who had last received the card, so we both blamed each other for losing it! Obviously a couple of months later (when it was time to change her knickers, I guess) she found it, and sent it to me a year late!

I'm just about to write in the card and send it off again - It's just a stupid thing a couple of stupid people do, but where on earth would the world be without our kind of idiocy!!
